Chris Murguia serves as a Senior Analyst and team lead in NASA’s Office of Procurement, Procurement Management and Policy Division, Grants Policy and Compliance (GPC). Chris joined NASA in December 2019, and in this position, he is responsible for assisting GPC in achieving their mission of developing, promulgating, and maintaining NASA-wide grant and cooperative agreement policy and delivering guidance and training to NASA’s grants administration personnel. Chris serves as the focal point in a number of functional areas, including maintaining NASA’s primary grants policy guide, the Grant and Cooperative Agreement Manual; leading responses to grants-related U.S. Government Accountability Office and Office of Inspector General engagements; and developing training resources for NASA’s Grant Officers and Technical Officers. Additionally, he serves as a NASA representative in interagency fora, such as the Financial Assistance Committee for E-Government and the Grants Quality Service Management Organization Federal agency working group.
Prior to joining NASA, Chris served as a Grant Officer and later a grant Program Manager in the U.S. Department of State’s (DOS) Bureau of Political-Military Affairs. At the DOS, he was responsible for managing foreign assistance grants in support of the U.S. Conventional Weapons Destruction program. Chris earned a B.S. in Justice Studies and a Master of Publication Administration from James Madison University.
