South Asian American Business Focus Group Shares Their Personal Experiences and Dreams

Atlanta, GA | November 2, 2011

The US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation (USPAACC) National, with the assistance of USPAACC South East Regional Chapter, today conducted a focus group of South Asian American businesses in Insurance, Manufacturing, Media, Legal Services, Web Services, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, and Natural Resource Conservation. This is one of 13 meetings held nationwide as a part of a pioneering study of Asian American businesses in the six largest Asian American ethnic groups in the country: Chinese, Filipino, Asian Indian, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. It is intended to provide a better understanding of the challenges, needs, anticipations, expectations and aspirations of the Asian American business community.focus group

The meeting focused on the experiences of the vibrant South Asian American businesses community, the dynamics and their contributions towards the vitality of the country. The group shared their thoughts, personal experiences, hurdles overcome, and the influences of their ethnic values and practices which are the reasons for their successes.

focus groupThe result of the focus group meeting will be a part of a study to be published and distributed nationwide. It will provide mainstream American corporations, government agencies and other organizations a better understanding of the dynamics of the diverse Asian American business community; and further highlight the contributions Asian Americans have made toward the vitality of the country by showcasing them to a wider public.
